Memorialization

We know that remembering your loved one through memorialization is very important. The options for memorialization of your family member or loved one within Albany Rural Cemetery are dependent on the particular burial type being considered for final disposition along with the specific location. The burial options at present include conventional casket graves with concrete vaults, natural burial graves without caskets or vaults, and space for the burial of cremated remains. The specific memorialization permitted for any burial option and lot space location must be reviewed in advance with the Cemetery.

All monuments, markers and special tributes must be pre-approved by the Cemetery before purchase or installation. Please contact a monument dealer to initiate this work, and the monument dealer will coordinate with Albany Rural to determine the permitted size, style and material for all monuments and markers, and will then work with the family on the design that meets ARC’s specifications. After the monument dealer receives approval of the design, the dealer will create your memorial.

See our Cemetery Rules and Regulations for details on the kinds of plantings and flowers that are allowed.

Special Tributes could include:

  • Temporary Tree Plaques
  • Benches and Plaques
  • Natural Stones or Engraved Stones
  • Bushes and Trees
