Linden Cremation Garden

Cremated remains can be interred in Albany Rural Cemetery’s Linden Grove Cremation Garden–an area in ARC designated solely for cremated remains. Linden Grove is located near the South Gate on Linden Avenue. Linden Grove blends in with nature and provides a quiet flowered setting among the trees and shrubs. Ashes are interred in small plots beneath paving stones. Families may engrave the paving stones with the name of the deceased and other desired information.

Note that we are also exploring other possible areas of the Cemetery cremains gardens or columbarium burial locations for interment of cremains. If you are interested in other cremains options please contact the office to discuss your interests/needs. We encourage you to plan in advance for cremation or burial. We would be happy to discuss all burial and memorialization options with you without pressure.

Crematorium

Unlike many other cemeteries, Albany Rural has operated its own on-site crematory for decades, serving its own needs, as well as the needs of other funeral homes, other cemeteries and individuals across the region. At present our crematory is adjacent to the Chapel, which can be scheduled for funeral and memorial services. Albany Rural Cemetery is in the planning/design stages of designing and constructing a new crematory which will be located near the main Cemetery gate, north of the office.

ARC offers both above-ground and in-ground options for interment of cremated bodies. Cremated remains can be returned to next-of-kin or interred at Albany Rural in a burial plot, in our mausoleum, or in an area called Linden Grove Cremation Garden—an in-ground section in ARC designated for cremated remains.
