The President Chester A. Arthur Ceremony
Each year the current President of the United States sends a wreath to the grave of every deceased President to honor them on their birthday with the requirement that a ceremony is held to present the wreath.
This year's ceremony was led by the 109th Air Wing of the New York National Guard.
Mark Bodnar, Vice President of the Albany Cemetery Association, served as the Master of Ceremonies and historical remarks were delivered by Paula Lemire, Director of Historical Development. The 109th Air Wing was represented by Major General Timothy J. LaBarge and Command Sergeant Timothy Trottier. The invocation was given by Captain Xiomara Diaz and the cordon was led by Chief Master Sergeant Greg Mihalko.
Despite a light drizzle, this year's ceremony was well attended.
