RULES AND REGULATIONS (2/14)

To promote and maintain the beautiful resting place of the faithful departed the following Rules and Regulations have been set up for those visiting Albany Rural Cemetery, and are intended to benefit the operation, care and permanent maintenance of the cemetery.

GENERAL

Hours of Operation

Office: Monday thru Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Saturday 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
Closed Sundays and Holidays

All cemetery business must be transacted at the office. Persons other than cemetery officials are not authorized to conduct business for the cemetery.

The cemetery grounds are open daily year round:
7:30 am – 4:30 pm
7:30 am – 7:00 pm during daylight savings time.

Dogs are allowed in the cemetery but MUST BE KEPT ON THEIR LEASH AT ALL TIMES. Owners are required to clean up after their animals.

Walking, running or driving on the roadways in the cemetery are allowed. Bicycles are also permitted. No motor scooters, ATVs or motorbikes are allowed.

 

LOT MAINTENANCE

Lot owners are responsible for the upkeep of their monuments and any plantings.

Any benches or other ornaments must get approval of management before placing on lot.

Any object placed on a lot is placed there at the lot owners risk and the cemetery is not responsible for damage done to monuments, markers, etc.

The cemetery reserves the right to restrict the planting of shrubs and trees and to remove any shrubs or tree upon due notice to the lot owner. All shrubs and tree planting must be approved by cemetery management prior to planting.

The cemetery reserves the right to remove all flowers, wreaths, and other decorations from lots as soon as they become unsightly.

PERMITTED:

Planting of annuals
Artificial or fresh flowers
Evergreen wreaths

NOTE: ALL PLANTING AND DECORATIONS MUST BE PLACED AT THE HEAD OF GRAVE NEAR MONUMENT.

NOT PERMITTED:

Glass or ceramic containers of any kind.
Vigil lights or candles.
Planting of perennials other than Tulips or Daffodils

 

CEMETERY CLEAN UP

 

Two cemetery wide cleanups are conducted during the year – March 15th and October 15th and they last approximately two weeks each. (Signs are posted at each entrance prior to clean up.)

If families want to save any of the decorations they must remove them from their lot by the clean up date.

 

MAUSOLEUM/CHAPEL

 

Hours of Operation for the Mausoleum/Chapel

• Open to public daily 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

• No smoking policy permitted in the Mausoleum or Chapel.

• Rest-rooms are available

• Flowers are allowed in designated areas.

• Use of the Chapel for services must be approved by cemetery management and a set charge for its usage will apply.
